Dr. Sujit Janardhan, MD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Digestive Diseases and Nutrition at Rush Medical College in Chicago, IL. He graduated summa cum laude with a BS in biological science from George Washington University and earned his PhD in immunology and MD from the University of Chicago. Dr. Janardhan completed his residency, internal medicine internship, and gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Chicago. He is also board-certified in obesity medicine.
Dr. Janardhan specializes in acute and chronic liver diseases, with a focus on nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and obesity management. His research at Rush integrates obesity medicine principles into chronic liver disease care and leverages computing technology to enhance health outcomes. He serves on the Medical Advisory Committee for the Great Lakes Chapter of the American Liver Foundation and is a member of several top professional organizations, including the American College of Physicians, the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, The Obesity Medicine Association, and the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases. Additionally, he is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest academic honor society in the United States. Dr. Janardhan is board-certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine.
